(HW)2-1 My Relationship to Technology

I record and thus I memorize

Since I started working on digital media, the work station has become wherever the laptop is. And after the smartphone became my daily object, work station is literally everywhere and every time I am with my phone.

I cannot deny that I am emotionally attached to my phone not only as it is a tool that I can talk with my family, friends and the world but also as I use its other functions especially the camera and image capture so often. I take photos and video which tremendously taking over my memories and daily experiences.
My memories rely on the data of the phone, and they are organized by the way the phone organizes its image data as I remember and recall many of my days based on the photos, video, texts and history that I made with the phone. They help me to remember what I did on what date and time.
Instead of watching and appreciating the moment, I tend to take out the phones and record, and going further, share it. For me, this "capturing and sharing the moment" action becomes "the moment of creation" where I (re)create the moments.
What has recorded can alter, modify, and create my memories.
